Casting Crowns es una conocida banda de rock cristiano, famosa por haber triunfado en los premios Grammy y los Dove Award. Fue creada por el pastor de jóvenes, Mark Hall, quien en su deseo constante de llevar la palabra de Dios decidió hacerlo mediante su voz y una serie de hermosas canciones. Al principio la banda solamente se dedicaba a tocar dentro de los campamentos y retiros espirituales, pero en el año 2003 fueron descubiertos por Steven Curtis Chapman, un magnate de la música religiosa. Fue así que Casting Crowns recibió un contrato para grabar un disco, el cual posteriormente fue titulado con el nombre del grupo. No pasó ni un mes cuando el álbum se convirtió en disco de Oro. Luego de una extensa gira a lo largo y ancho de los Estados Unidos, la banda se decidió a grabar un segundo trabajo al cual llamaron “Lifesong”. El mismo fue lanzado en el 2005 y se convirtió en disco de Platino antes de un mes. Ese mismo año fueron nominados en 13 categorías dentro de los Gospel Music Awards, siendo ganadores de siete de ellas: Mejor Canción del Año, Grupo del Año, Vocalista Masculino, y Productor del año entre otras. En el 2006 fueron premiados con un Grammy al Mejor disco de una banda Pop contemporánea. Para muchos esto fue una gran sorpresa, puesto que normalmente el Gospel suele ser dejado de lado en este certamen. El 28 de Agosto del 2007 salió a la venta su tercer disco de Platino: “The Altar And the Door”, premiado con 2 galardones en los Gospel Music Awards.
