Camelot Los creadores de la serie Spartacus estrenan el 1 de abril en Estados Unidos Camelot, una revisión moderna de la leyenda épica que cuenta las aventuras del Rey Arturo y su ascenso al trono de Inglaterra en un formato hecho para adultos. Con 10 episodios, un elenco y equipo de lujo, la cadena norteamericana Starz hace su gran apuesta para este 2011 y apunta a continuar con sus series de calidad cinematográfica. El anuncio de la nueva producción de Starz, en julio pasado, fue bien recibida por los espectadores y los medios. Y es que tras el gran éxito obtenido con Spartacus: Bloodandsand y su posterior precuela, Godsofthe arena, las expectativas son altas. La producción fichó para el elenco a actores como Joseph Fiennes (Shakespeare enamorado), Eva Green (Casino Royale) y Claire Forlani (¿Conoces a Joe Black?) para interpretar a Merlín, Morgana y la Reina Igraine, respectivamente. En el rol de Arturo se aventuraron y nuevamente apostaron a dar con la "próxima estrella" -tal cual hicieron con Andy Whitfield en Spartacus, por lo que ficharon al inglés Jamie Campbell Bower (22), quien ha tenido pequeñas pero destacadas apariciones en películas de Hollywood como Sweeney Todd, donde caracterizó al joven Anthony, el chico que se enamora y huye con la hija del barbero. Para completar la fórmula, se convocó a productores con experiencia en series de época: Graham King, Morgan O'Sullivan y Michael Hirst, creadores de Los Tudor. Además, a la cabeza del equipo se suma uno de los más connotados "hombres de televisión" del Reino Unido, Chris Chibnal, escritor de la galardonada Lifeon Mars (un Emmy y un Bafta a mejor serie dramática de la TV británica), que oficia de guionista y productor ejecutivo.
