Resident Evil Director’s Cut (Resident Evil) Resident Evil: Director's Cut es una versión actualizada de Resident Evil para PlayStation que fue puesto en venta en septiembre de 1997, un año y medio después del lanzamiento del juego original. Director's Cut se produjo para compensar el retraso de la secuela, Resident Evil 2, y originalmente se suministra con un demo jugable de éste juego. La principal adición de Director's Cut es el cambio de la ubicación de casi todos los elementos vitales en la mansión, así como la colocación de los enemigos. Los personajes principales, así como Rebbeca Chambers, se les da un nuevo vestuario y la pistola del personaje es sustituida por un modelo mejorado que cualquier disparo al azar tiene una probabilidad de matar a un zombie. La versión original del juego también se incluye, junto con un nuevo modo "principiante" en el que los enemigos son más fáciles de matar y la cantidad de municiones que se pueden encontrar por el jugador se duplica. y el "avanzado" lo cual es todo lo contrario, algunos objetos se ubican en zonas completamente distintas ademas de que los enemigos hacen mucho mas daño.
