This super-deluxe boxset from 2008 is truly magnificent. Not only "Dig Out Your Soul" is a great album, but the design, looks, feel and all that's inside is brilliant. Personally I had given up on Oasis after "Standing On The Shoulders Of Giants". I gave the albums that were released after that a quick listen, but found them too dull & predictable. What a suprise when the single "The Shock Of The Lightning " came out predecessing this album. Bye, bye to all those (other) (would be) brit/indiepopbands from 2005 and beyond. This was the return of the original monster and imho they blew everyone away (again)! This boxset from 2008 came with 4 LP's, an LP-sized full color book, 2 CD's and a DVD. Since I love both formats I am a vinyl and CD lover. I must say, the vinyl version is so so much better than the CD version. Since I bought this I think I have played the CD versions only once. Just to compare. (And no, I am not going to digitalize these albums). The second CD (and 3rd and 4th vinyl disc) is exclusive to this release and features non album tracks, other versions and remixes. The DVD is a nice bonus with a documentary, a making of and a videoclip.
