Dieter Dierks, un ingeniero de sonido, armaba fiestas de ácido y en ellas, los músicos intercambiaban sesiones de grabación por drogas. Dieter las mezcló luego y lanzó los discos bajo el nombre de Cosmic Jokers. Göttsching lo escuchó en una disquería de Berlin, cuando le preguntó al dependiente qué grupo escuchaba. Cual sería su sorpresa al ver el disco de Cosmic Jokers, en donde él figuraba como uno de los integrantes!
