La historia se desarrolla en una isla del Atlántico donde sólo se producen sardinas. Pero, ¿y si se pudieran fabricar hamburguesas, pizzas y bistecs? Flint lo intenta y algo sale distinto de cómo se planeó: los alimentos empiezan a caer del cielo, para asombro de los habitantes de la isla, cuyo infame alcalde quiere convertirla en centro turístico a cualquier precio. Distinta, sin duda, la película explora en su propia extrañeza por la vía de enfatizar en el chistecillo corto, en la minucia absurda, en el gesto que descoloca.
