Grabó en 1953 y 1954 al lado de The Modern Jazz Quartet, Thelonious Monk, Art Farmer y especialmente, con Miles Davis, en una de esas sesiones de grabación, tuvo por fin la oportunidad de grabar con su idolatrado, Charlie Parker. Sonny Rollins, es, sin duda alguna, el último de los gigantes del jazz que continúa con vida.
