Mientras un pequeño número de humanos empieza a dudar de la sinceridad de los aparentemente benevolentes Visitantes, la agente Erica Evans de la unidad antiterrorista del FBI descubre que los alienígenas han estado, durante años, infiltrándose en los gobiernos y empresas de negocios y ahora están en la última etapa de su plan para apoderarse del planeta. Erica se une al movimiento de resistancia, entre los que se encuentran Ryan, un agente dormido Visitante que quiere salvar a la humanidad.
