Overview of Paint.NET
Paint.NET is a free image editing and photo manipulation software for Windows computers. It supports layers, unlimited undo, special effects, and many valuable and powerful tools.
Originally intended as a free replacement for the MS Paint software that comes with Windows, it has grown into a powerful yet simple photo and image editing tool.
Paint.NET can be used to enhance and clean up your photographs. The power lines crisscrossed in front of the Space Needle were carefully removed using the Clone Stamp tool. Other operations included smoothing the image without blurring, adding some "bloom" (glow), and increasing the contrast.
It has been compared to other digital photo editing software packages such as Adobe Photoshop, Corel Paint Shop Pro, Microsoft Photo Editor, and GIMP.
