Description:
A unique simulator designed for high-speed analysis of linear and mixed circuits.
Consists of two applications - SIMPLIS and SIMetrix.
Additional Information:
The SIMPLIS application (abbreviation for "SIMulation for Piecewise LInear System") was created to quickly simulate power supplies and switching regulators, as well as explore key voltage converter circuits. It, like the SPICE program, functions at the level of radio circuit components, but performs transient analyzes 10-50 times faster. The SIMPLIS module achieves this simulation speed by using piecewise linear approximation instead of solving systems of nonlinear equations used in the SPICE program. The application performs the following types of analyzes: transients, PFC / frequency response with a closed loop of auto-regulation and at the operating point. The last analysis is an accelerated calculation of the steady state operation of the switching power supply at constant load and power. For cases that are particularly difficult in terms of simulation, another analysis mode is provided - Multi-Tone AC, which is a kind of two-frequency method for determining intermodulation distortion. In addition, the program has a function to automatically convert SPICE models to SIMPLIS format models.

The second SIMetrix program is a full-fledged analog-to-digital circuit simulator. It is based on two common products - XSPICE and SPICE. The application has a schematic editor, a simulator and a graphical post-processor. As the main method of iteration, the Newton-Raphson solution is used, which ensures the speed of calculations of transient processes and direct current. For especially "tricky" circuits, there is a pseudo-transitional analysis algorithm with isolation/fixation of non-computable nodal potentials and an adaptable iteration step. The SIMetrix program supports MOS9, BSIM3/4, Mextram, VBIC specification element models and is compatible with HSPICE files. In addition, the application has a Bode probe and an efficiency calculator, and also supports the creation of an arbitrary logic block that simulates the operation of a digital device.

The distribution kit with programs includes a detailed user manual, help files and hundreds of examples of work performed from various areas of circuitry.

The programs included in this kit were developed thanks to the efforts of two partner companies - SIMetrix Technologies (Great Britain, Berkshire, Thatcham) and SIMPLIS Technologies (USA, Oregon, Portland).

Treatment procedure:

Turn off the Internet while installing the software.
Do not run the program after installation.
Use 'patch.exe' to patch simplis.exe, Sim.exe and DVMAdvanced.dll. You must run 'patch.exe' three times (simplis.exe, Sim.exe and DVMAdvanced.dll). The files are located here:
c:\Program Files\SIMetrix820\bin\simplis.exe
c:\Program Files\SIMetrix820\bin64\Sim.exe
c:\Program Files\SIMetrix820\plugins\functions\DVMAdvanced.dll
Then run the program and select license.lic as the license file.
Then you can make sure that the 'license.lic' file is here:
"c:\ProgramData\SIMetrix Technologies\License\license.lic"
