XnView is a universal program for viewing and converting graphic files. It works at high speed, has an easy-to-use interface, supports over 500 graphic formats and converts 50 formats among themselves. XnView is capable of cropping graphics, changing its size, adjusting gamma, contrast, brightness, balance; it is possible to send graphics for printing, apply various filters, and many other operations. All of these any combination of operations and filters can be applied in batch mode.

The program supports direct work with scanners and digital cameras using the TWAIN protocol. If the user stores a very large number of illustrations, for example, a collection of photographs taken with a digital camera, then finding the desired picture can be very time consuming. To overcome this inconvenience, you can save the catalog of illustrations as web pages or print it out on a printer. XnView can convert images from one format to another. For example, a scanned image in TIFF format can be easily converted to GIF format for publication on the Internet. Moreover, if a user often performs the same format conversion procedure, he can create a batch conversion script and make all changes with almost one click of the mouse.

However, the XnView capabilities are not limited to just viewing the files. His second task is image editing. The program has built-in support for many filters and graphics editing effects (sharpness, blur, shift, mosaic, removing "red-eye" from photos, and so on). In addition, you can resize the illustration, rotate or flip horizontally and vertically. Several images can easily be "stitched" into one panoramic picture. All possible options for changing the color mode of the picture are available. The program is also useful for creating screenshots.
