OneDDL
EPLAN Electric P8 version 2.9 SP1 Update 4 | 1.6 Gb EPLAN, the engineering solutions provider, is pleased to announce the availability of EPLAN Electric P8 version 2.9 SP1 Update 4 its the ECAD Standard for Your Engineering - More Than Just Drawing Schematics. What's new in version 2.9? Store QR codes via hyperlink? Easier implementation of corporate standards through level management? Editing project data in bulk using navigators? Everything possible - with version 2.9 of the EPLAN platform.Faster and easier: QR codes QR codes can now be generated directly in version 2.9. Users can store hyperlinks in their documentation which can be scanned and opened via an app on a mobile device. This applies to both internal and external links, removing the need for tedious typing. These QR codes also work with printed documentation, which is still both faster and easier than typing.Docked: The level management Layer management is easier than ever before as a dockable dialogue because all changes are now saved automatically. Additional functions round off the new layer management, including searching for layers and changing their attributes. From now on, an object can easily be searched for as it will have been assigned a certain level in a project or subproject. Subsequently, designers can change the attributes of a searched layer in the search result list via the properties dialogue of a found object. Layers that have been added to a project via DXF or DWG import can be found quickly, changed easily or used as user-defined layers.Get to your destination quickly: Navigator display In the previous version of the EPLAN platform, the list display of macro navigators were converted into a table that could be easily edited. With the new version, this function has been expanded to include other navigators, such the Device Navigator, the PLC Navigator and the Wire Navigator. This is a powerful practical advantage, because from version 2.9 project data can be edited in bulk and in no time. Speaking of macros: Once a macro project has been completed, standardised macros can be inserted into other projects from the macro navigator using drag & drop. Of course, this also works within the macro or circuit diagram project in which the user created the window and symbol macros. This is a clear time advantage because the previously cumbersome selection via the macro selection in the directories is no longer necessary. An additional plus: The data is reused, which also secures and increases the quality in the project.Cleverly configured: Property arrangements With the new configuration dialogue, users can manage and edit user-defined property arrangements for symbols and 3D part placements easily. When configuring, you can now also check the use of customised property arrangements and easily delete unused ones. The context menu lets you quickly find the user-defined arrangements currently in use (menu item "Insert into list of search results"). With just another click you can then easily call them up (menu item "Go to (graphic)"). The advantages are obvious: All property arrangements in the project can be viewed at a glance. With the export and import of property arrangements for different circuit symbols, several arrangements can be processed at the same time. The new search function allows you to make modifications to comply with company standards even more quickly.Translations: Extra clarity Version 2.9 allows you to make multilingual entries for many properties and input fields in your project or in parts management. Users can then translate them manually or automatically into a uniform language, adding an extra portion of clarity. Fields in which multilingual input is possible are now identified by default with a standard icon in the user interface. How does this work? When the user enters text in a multilingual field, it is initially language-independent and remains displayed as it was input. For translation, the text is assigned to the specified source language. PLC During importing in the AutomationML format, parts are also assigned for which the PLC type designations only differ by a different number of blanks - if there is no part with exactly matching PLC type designation. PLC During the import of PLC configuration data in the AutomationML format the identifier is now automatically added if it is not available in the import file. The identifier is determined from the format for the PLC addresses which is stored in the scheme used for the PLC-specific settings. Terminals / plugs If terminals or pins were sorted via drag & drop in the dialog Edit terminal strip or in the dialog Edit plug, problems occurred under certain conditions. This has been corrected. PLC Since Version 2.9 multi-line bus ports are also taken into consideration during check runs of the class "PLC / bus". These check runs (for example 004039, "Connection between different bus systems") therefore took a long time in projects that contain many multi-line bus ports. This has been improved. PLC PLC schematic generation available during importing of PLC data in the AutomationML format. During the import of PLC data in the AutomationML format the option Start "Generate PLC schematic" was not available in the Import PLC data dialog in the past. This functionality is now also available for the import of PLC configuration files in the AutomationML format. PLC Information during the import of files with a higher AutomationML version. An import file in AutomationML format is always imported irrespective of the AutomationML version with which the file was created. This means that all the data known for the respective EPLAN version is imported. As of EPLAN Version 2.9 SP1 an information is now displayed when an import file with a higher AutomationML version is created than that supported by the used EPLAN version. In this case it is possible that not all the data contents are imported. PLC New "MELSECNET/H" bus system. The new bus system "MELSECNET/H" is available in the Bus data tab at bus ports. PLC PLC boxes for which the CPU setting is deactivated and for which no CPU name is entered, are not reported anymore by the 004083 check run. Terminals For the fourth alignable accessory of a terminal, the type number of the fifth accessory was displayed in the Part: Type number property. This has been corrected. Terminals If the Do not use main terminals property is selected for a terminal strip, alignable accessories have to be entered as a part at the terminal strip definition. Such parts could be selected for a terminal strip definition but not added in the Edit terminal strip dialog. This now works. PLC For bus ports it is now possible again in the Bus data tab to create a user-defined property configuration for the properties in the Properties of the network interface field via the Configure popup menu item.EPLAN Electric P8is a consistent, integrated and fast engineering system for you to plan and design the electrical engineering for machines and plant systems.
