hannibal833
Martha's American Food cookbook by Martha Stewart In a nutshell: Martha Stewart rides the retro-food wave with a winning collection of mostly traditional American regional fare. Although the publisher touts that Stewart has put a "fresh, modern" spin on the recipes, for the most part they remain true to their roots. This is very much simple, honest home cooking, not chef-y food, and we find that refreshing. Take a taste: Baked Artichoke Dip; Roast Pork Italian; Chicken and Mushroom Hotdish; Grilled Chile-Citrus Turkey Breast; Stewed Collard Greens; Maple Bundt Cake; Washington Walnut Pie. What's hot: Each recipe comes with a "back story" about its origins. And even though organizing recipes by region can sometimes make it harder to browse for dishes by main ingredient or by course, it does help you appreciate the rich diversity that comprises American cooking.
