Gohan, quien se encontraba presente, acude al bosque para apagar el gran incendio provocado usando las Bolas del Dragón, y se hace amigo del tímido Dragón Icarus. Mientras tanto, el villano Saiyan Turles, quien envió la nave exploradora, planta en el planeta Tierra la semilla de un gigantesco “Árbol del Poder”. Terriblemente destructivo, este árbol absorbe todos los nutrientes del suelo donde es plantado matando a todo ser viviente. Informados por el Rey Kai del peligro que corre la Tierra, Goku y sus amigos desafían al ejército de Turles.
