"Spinal Tap" hizo reír y "Anvil" era agridulce, pero las risas acaban aquí. Cantante de los heavies Pentagram, Bobby Liebling agoniza en el sótano paterno atizándole al crack. El drama de su caída, tan exagerado que parece ficticio, se torna canto de resurrección. Anvil era brillante, pero algunas escenas lo acercaban al esperpento. Las risas, sea como fuere, acaban en Last days here. Bobby Liebling fue el carismático cantante de los 70’s hard-rockers y pioneros doom, Pentagram. Hoy agoniza en el sótano paterno atizándole al crack y la heroína, un sobrecogedor zombi moteado por llagas e infecciones cutáneas, desdentado e inconexo, que flirtea a diario con la muerte. El filme empieza con el reencuentro entre Liebling y Sean “Pellet” Pelletier, el amigo y manager que intentará relanzar la carrera del malogrado mito metálico. Last days here alterna el drama de su caída, tan exagerado que parece ficticio, tan lleno de traspiés que parece escrito por un guionista cenizo (pifiaron una audiencia con KISS, Liebling se marchó en medio de otra cita con Columbia), con el improbable canto de resurrección que suena en su vida presente. ¿Será capaz Liebling de levantarse y andar, relanzar su carrera, abandonar las drogas, incluso encontrar el amor? Suena improbable, pero encontrarán la respuesta aquí: en un filme inolvidable, lleno de empatía y afecto, que es también un ensayo sobre la mala pata y –de nuevo- el sabotaje personal (sinopsis extraída del Festival Beefeter In-Edit).
