Cuando una explosión catastrófica arrasa Nuevo York, 8 extraños se guarecen en el sótano de un edificio, un refugio nuclear diseñado por el paranoico encargado Mickey. El lugar tiene apenas espacio con 3 habitaciones conectadas, pero tiene reservas de alimentos y agua, y al menos el grupo está a salvo de los horrores del exterior.
