SINOPSIS

 

Sherlock Holmes siempre ha sido el más listo de todos... hasta ahora. Y es que hay una nueva mente maestra del crimen que anda suelta, el profesor James Moriarty (Jared Harris), y no sólo está al mismo nivel intelectual que Holmes; además, su capacidad para el mal, combinada con una total falta de conciencia, podrían concederle cierta ventaja sobre el famoso detective. En todo el mundo se están produciendo llamativas noticias: un escándalo acaba con un potentado del algodón de la India, un comerciante de opio chino fallece de una aparente sobredosis, estallan bombas en Estrasburgo y Viena, fallece un magnate del acero estadounidense... Nadie ve ninguna conexión entre estos acontecimientos aparentemente aleatorios, excepto el gran Sherlock, que ha adivinado una red deliberada de muerte y destrucción. Y en su centro, como una araña especialmente siniestra, está Moriarty. La investigación por parte de Holmes del plan de Moriarty se torna más peligrosa cuando le hace abandonar Londres, junto a Watson, para dirigirse a Francia, Alemania y, finalmente, Suiza.
