SINOPSIS

 

El acelerado calentamiento global ha provocado una separación entre las capas alta y baja de la atmósfera, y la fricción entre ambas provoca poderosos tornados y terroríficas tormentas eléctricas de una magnitud nunca vista sobre la faz de la Tierra. Similar a la Gran Mancha Roja de Jupiter, una gigantesca corriente de chorro se ha centrado sobre Manhattan. Numerosos tornados convergen sobre la ciudad, sembrando el terror a su paso, devastador e impredecible. Para enfrentarse al desastre, al alacalde James Lawrence y su esposa, la meteoróloga Cassie deberán olvidar sus problemas conyugales y buscar juntos una forma de aplacar la furia de los tornados. Sin previsión de un final para el ciclo de tormentas. Jim y Cassie deberán aunar esfuerzos para salvar la ciudad que en 24 horas podría dejar de existir.
