Sinopsis

 

Basado en la verdadera historia de Leigh Anne Tuohy y Sean que toman en un hogar de adolescentes afro-americanos, a Michael "Big Mike" Oher. Michael no tiene idea de quién es su padre, y su madre es una adicta a las drogas. Michael ha tenido muy poca educación formal y pocas habilidades para ayudarle a aprender. Leigh Anne pronto se hace cargo sin embargo, como es su naturaleza, asegurando que el joven tenga todas las oportunidades para tener éxito. Cuando se expresa un interés en el fútbol, ella hace todo lo posible para ayudarlo, incluyendo darle al entrenador algunas ideas sobre la mejor manera de utilizar las habilidades de Michael. No sólo le proporciona un hogar lleno de amor, también le contrata a un tutor para ayudarle a mejorar sus calificaciones hasta el punto en que pueda acogerse a una beca deportiva de la I División de la NCAA.
