Becca Crane, una joven sufrida y solitaria se encuentra enamorada de Edward Sullen quien es guapo, melancólico, y que vive torturado con su erizado cabello. Edward siente lo mismo y cree que Becca es su alma gemela. Sin embargo trata de mantenerla alejada pues teme que la atracción mutua puede conducirlo a una incontrolable ansia de sangre.
