Tras muchos años de ausencia, la saga Patrician regresará este 2010 con Patrician IV, una nueva entrega que invitará a los usuarios a tomar el papel de un joven mercante en el área del Báltico durante la época dorada de la organización de comercio del norte en la Europa medieval, llamada la Liga Hanseática. Su objetivo será convertirse en el mercante más poderoso de Europa, todo ello conservando los pilares básicos de las anteriores entregas y añadiendo un nuevo estilo visual así como una simulación rediseñada y más amigable. Los creadores de las anteriores entregas de Patrician, los chicos de Ascaron, cerraron sus puertas a mediados del pasado año, así que la franquicia ha pasado a manos de Kalypso Media, que ha dejado el desarrollo en manos de Gaming Minds Studios.
