En Abril de 1943, sale de la vía 17 de la estación de Grunewald un tren con 688 judíos – hacinados en vagones de ganado – en dirección a Auschwitz. No importa si se es joven o viejo, académico, artista o boxeador. El viaje a la muerte dura seis días. En el tren, comienza una lucha contra el calor, el hambre y la sed. En su desesperación, algunos intentan huir, entre ellos, Henry y Lea Neumann y Ruth Zilbermann. Pero el tiempo apremia y Auschwitz se acerca cada vez más.
