Biografia de YANNI:

Yanni Chryssomallis, es un pianista y compositor griego de new age, que reúne los géneros orquestal, instrumental y lírico; aunque él prefiere llamarla "Instrumental Contemporánea". De niño le gustaba tocar el piano, aunque no cursó lecciones para este instrumento, apendió a ejecutarlo por si mismo. Tampoco lee partituras, por lo que utiliza su propia notación musical para sus composiciones. Sus temas se han utilizado como bandas sonoras para el cine, la televisión, los torneos deportivos, el teatro y los Juegos Olímpicos. Tambien es psicólogo, por lo que realizó trabajos acerca de Sigmund Freud, de quien se considera admirador. Yanni es el artista más exitoso de la música instrumental contemporánea. Ha ganado 35 discos de platino y oro en todo el mundo y el éxito incomparable de sus videos y especiales televisados, como el célebre concierto 'Live at the Acrópolis’ que posee varios récords históricos y constituye el video musical más vendido de todos los tiempos, lo sitúa como uno de los artistas más destacados del último tiempo. Los videos que le siguieron, filmados en el Taj Mahal (India), la Ciudad Prohibida (China) y Las Vegas también fueron grandes éxitos. Los especiales televisados de Yanni han sido vistos por más de 500 millones de personas alrededor del mundo y su música hasta el día de hoy forma parte de todas las transmisiones olímpicas.

Acroyali" (una villa cercana a Kalamata, ciudad donde nació Yanni) y "Standing in motion" (de pie en movimiento), son temas compuestos por Yanni, para su álbum de 1987, "Out of Silence" (fuera del silencio). El video corresponde al concierto realizado el 25 de septiembre de 1993, en el Herodes Atticus Theatre, Atenas, Grecia; conocido como "Live at the Acropolis". El Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine (revista de la real sociedad de medicina) de Reino Unido, determinó que esta composición tiene el "Efecto Mozart", debido a que es similar a la famosa sonata K448 de Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, en el tiempo, la estructura, la consonancia melódica y armónica, y en la previsibilidad.

El efecto Mozart, según estudios científicos, es el efecto que tiene sobre el cerebro las músicas de W. A. Mozart. El de la sonata K448, es la mas famosa, ya aumenta la inteligencia espacio-temporal durante 10 a 15 minutos.
